Accessibility Statement

Effective date: May 4, 2026. Last updated: May 4, 2026.

LEAP — operated by Lakeview Women's Fitness Club LLC, doing business as LEAP — Lakeview East Athletics and Performance — is committed to making strength training accessible to as many adults as possible, both through our website and at our facility at 1057 W Belmont Avenue in East Lakeview, Chicago. We believe coaching-led training should be available to people across a wide range of bodies, abilities, and starting points, and our website should reflect that same commitment.

Our commitment

LEAP works to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.2 AA is the current international standard for web accessibility and aligns with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III expectations for places of public accommodation, the Section 508 federal standards, and EN 301 549 in the European Union.

We treat accessibility as an ongoing process, not a one-time project. As the site evolves, new content, new features, and new third-party tools will be tested against the same standard.

Conformance status

LEAP's website at https://www.leapchicago.com is in partial conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. "Partial conformance" means most of the site meets the standard, but some content does not yet fully conform — usually because of legacy content, third-party widgets we don't fully control, or media that is in the process of being captioned or described. Specific known limitations are listed below.

Measures we have taken

To make the site as accessible as we reasonably can, we have:

  • Built the site on Wix Studio, which provides built-in accessibility features including keyboard navigation, semantic HTML, and tools for adding alternative text and ARIA labels.

  • Used clear visual hierarchy, sufficient color contrast, and readable type sizes across the site.

  • Structured pages with descriptive headings (H1 / H2 / H3) so the content can be navigated by screen-reader users using heading shortcuts.

  • Added alternative text to content images so screen-reader users can understand what an image conveys. Decorative-only images are marked accordingly so they are skipped by assistive technology.

  • Designed forms with visible labels and clear error messaging.

  • Built a navigation that works with keyboard-only input (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Escape).

  • Provided a privacy policy and clear contact methods (email, phone, and a contact form) so visitors can reach a human when they need help.

  • Reviewed the site against automated accessibility checkers (WAVE, Lighthouse Accessibility, axe DevTools) and addressed issues those tools surfaced.

Compatibility

The LEAP website is designed to work with the latest versions of:

  • Browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop; Chrome, Safari, and Samsung Internet on mobile.

  • Screen readers: NVDA and JAWS on Windows; VoiceOver on macOS and iOS; TalkBack on Android.

  • Other assistive technology: OS-level zoom, Windows Magnifier, browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality, and voice-input tools (Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Voice Control on iOS/macOS, Voice Access on Android).

The site has not been tested against every browser/assistive-technology combination. If you use a configuration that produces an accessibility issue, please let us know — we treat real-world reports as the best test.

Technical specifications

The LEAP website uses HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA. Accessibility relies on these technologies and on the user's browser, operating system, and any assistive technology in use. JavaScript is required for several site features, including the Wix-rendered blog, member-area links to TeamUp, and forms. We've worked to keep core navigation and content visible even when third-party scripts are slow to load, but full functionality depends on JavaScript being enabled.

Known limitations

Despite our best efforts, some parts of the site may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA. Known limitations include:

  • Third-party embedded content: Videos, social media embeds, scheduling widgets (TeamUp), and analytics tools are provided by third parties and we do not fully control their accessibility. We choose vendors with strong accessibility practices where we can and report issues to them when they're discovered.

  • Older blog images: Some images uploaded before our accessibility audit may be missing descriptive alternative text. We are working through the back catalog and adding alt text as we identify gaps.

  • Video and audio content: Where the site includes video, we are working to add captions and transcripts. Some older content may not yet have captions; report any specific item and we will prioritize it.

  • PDF documents: Any downloadable PDFs (waivers, program guides) may not be fully accessible. If you need an alternative format, contact us and we will provide an accessible version.

  • Wix Studio platform constraints: Some elements of the underlying Wix Studio platform produce code we cannot directly modify. We've reported the specific items to Wix and work around them where possible.

Physical facility accessibility

LEAP's facility is located at 1057 W Belmont Avenue in East Lakeview, Chicago, near the Belmont Red Line CTA stop (which is wheelchair-accessible with elevators). The facility includes coaching equipment and training spaces. If you are planning to visit and have specific accessibility questions about the facility — entrance, restrooms, equipment height, or session adaptation — please reach out before your visit so we can give you accurate information about the current setup and any accommodations we can arrange.

LEAP coaches routinely adapt sessions for members with injuries, mobility limitations, chronic conditions, and post-rehab goals. Every coached session — Personal Training, Team Strength, Team Peak Performance, and Barbell Club — is designed around the individual member, including any accessibility needs.

Feedback and how to report an accessibility issue

If you encounter a barrier on the LEAP website, or if you need information from the site provided in a different format, please contact us:

  • Email: matt@leapchicago.com (subject line: "Accessibility")

  • Phone: (773) 360-8163

  • Mail: Lakeview Women's Fitness Club LLC, d/b/a LEAP, 1057 W Belmont Avenue, Chicago, IL 60657

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 2 business days and to provide a substantive response within 10 business days. If a fix is going to take longer than that — for example, because the issue involves a third-party vendor — we will tell you what's happening and give you an estimated timeline. In the meantime, we will provide the information you need in an alternative format on request (large print, plain text, read aloud over phone).

When you report an issue, it helps us if you include:

  • The web page where the issue occurred (URL).

  • A short description of what happened and what you expected to happen.

  • The browser, operating system, and any assistive technology you were using.

  • Whether you'd like us to follow up with you, and how to reach you.

Formal complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response and you believe LEAP has not met its accessibility obligations, you may file a complaint with:

We would much rather hear from you directly first so we can fix the issue, but you have the right to file with these agencies whether or not you contact us first.
